Close to Porta Romana, in Milan, Cascina Cuccagna is an eighteenth-century farmhouse which was recovered through a conservative restoration work for the benefit of the city’s inhabitants. Abandoned for many years, it is now a meeting place that promotes social interaction, thanks to the commitment of a network of townspeople and associations to which esterni has belonged since its foundation.

Since its reopening in 2012, Cascina Cuccagna has gathered a community of people, organizations and businesses (the Cuccagna Community) to develop projects related to sustainable lifestyles.

The former farmhouse also hosts un posto a Milano – Kitchen, Bar and Guest House, a project conceived and managed by esterni. un posto a Milano supports the work and commitment of more than 100 small Italian producers in order to spread the real food mile philosophy, based on the use of seasonal food and the conservation of selected ingredients, in accordance with the traditions of Italian cuisine.
